Dr. Jos S. Pet

Jos is a fisheries expert with extensive experience in providing strategic planning advice; recommendations for project implementation; and technical and project management services for all stages of project life cycles. He has a PhD degree in Tropical Fisheries Biology and Management and holds a M.Sc. (Cum Laude) in Fisheries Biology and Fish Culture. He worked with government, private sector, academics and NGOs on marine protected area development, coral reef monitoring and management, environmental impact assessment, and small-scale fisheries assessment & management in Indonesia, Philippines, South East Asia, Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia. He also boasts decades of work on marine biodiversity conservation, financial modelling of coastal marine ecosystem services, multi-stakeholder marine protected area planning, marine tourism and related organizational governance. His current work involves the assessment and analysis of Indonesian coastal and deep-water fisheries (snapper, grouper, tuna) in support of improved collaborative management. As part of this work he maintains a very current and active network of collaborators with coastal fisheries scientists all over the world.
